Strategies For Lesson Planning and Materials:
-
While teaching lessons, I will use slides that engage the interest of the students (more pictures and fewer words). This will also help diverse learners.
-
I will plan more interactive activities to engage students' learning using hands-on and group work.
-
Worksheets will have a larger font, more pictures and be posted onto Google Classroom for learners with diverse needs.
Strategies for Improvement of Assessment Rubrics:
-
I will utilize the Alberta Assessment Consortium website and the Building Better Rubrics' booklet to create assessments that focus on one to two learning outcomes.

Timeline Actions

April - July -Reflect on what worked and what did not, and adjust lesson plans accordingly
July - September -Work on incorporating 1-2 more teaching techniques and focus on incorporating techniques for diverse learners.
September - December. -Look for feedback from colleagues, and reflect on lesson plans for the previous 9 months, look for areas that need improvement and create a new personal growth plan to focus on them.

Reflections
-
I began my field III placement with little experience preparing rubrics. I did grow and learn that rubrics should focus on one to two learning outcomes that match the focus of the lesson/unit plan. I also learned that there are specific words that should be used in each section of the rubric. These can be found in the building better rubric booklet. I also learned that I should acquire one of these books, and have done so since the end of that practicum.
